‘El buen patrón’, de Fernando León de Aranoa, no ha estat seleccionada entre les cinc pel·lícules finalistes en la cursa per l’Oscar a millor pel·lícula internacional. El film havia passat el tall de les 10 escollides entre les candidates de tot el món, però ha quedat fora en la darrera selecció prèvia a la gala dels guardons de l’Acadèmia de Hollywood.
Així mateix, estan entre els nominats a millors actors Javier Bardem i Penélope Cruz per les seves actuacions a ‘Being The Ricardos’ i ‘Madres paralelas’, respectivament.
Anunciats per Leslie Jordan i Tracee Ellis Ross, els films favorits d’aquest any són ‘El poder del perro’ amb 12 nominacions i ‘Dune’, amb 10, seguides per ‘Belfast’ i ‘West side story’ amb 7.
La pel·lícula ‘Madres paralelas’, de Pedro Almodóvar, ha rebut un total de dues nominacions. Per una banda Penélope Cruz com a millor actriu i per altra Alberto Iglesias per la banda sonora.
Per altra banda, competiran en la categoria de millor pel·lícula internacional la danesa ‘Flee’; la italiana ‘Fue la mano de Dios’, dirigida pel popular director Paolo Sorrentino; la japonesa ‘Drive my car’, la noruega ‘The worst person in the world’ i la bhutanesa ‘Lunana: a yak in the classroom’.
